How to co-design a human-centric demand response programme that optimizes energy consumption without altering citizens’ well-being and comfort?
Athens, Greece
Why?
The pilot is located in a group of residential and commercial buildings in Athens, used for experimental testing of new solutions and where residents are already familiar with smart technologies in energy.
What?
The demo case focuses on engaging local consumers in implicit demand response programmes to alter their energy consumption patterns and provide flexibility to the electricity retailer.
How?
To enable the realisation of human-centric demand response programmes, participants’ data is collected and analysed in order to design a personalised consumer’s flexibility profile. These profiles allow designing optimal Virtual Power Plants and delivering value services to the electricity retailer.
